Service Description
MARCH 21st – 29th, 2026 (Saturdays & Sundays) A rare behind-the-scenes opportunity designed specifically for film, television, and game directors: observe master performance capture directors at work inside a professional performance capture stage. Over four immersive days, participants will witness how two of the industry’s leading p-cap directors shape performances, collaborate with actors, and translate story into data-driven character animation in real time. This is not a lecture — it’s a live observational experience that places you inside the process as it unfolds. You’ll gain insight into: • How directing actors for performance capture differs from traditional on-camera directing • Communicating performance notes when the “camera” is virtual • Blocking, staging, and spatial storytelling in a capture volume • Working with technical teams, animators, and real-time visualization tools • Maintaining emotional authenticity when costumes, sets, and props are minimal Participants will observe sessions led by two acclaimed directors whose work spans blockbuster games and major film/TV franchises: • JB Blanc — known for work on major franchises Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Tomb Raider • America Young — major projects including Barbie, Batgirl, and Monster High This class is ideal for directors seeking to expand into virtual production, game cinematics, creature performance, and the rapidly growing field of performance capture. Space is extremely limited to preserve an authentic working environment on the stage. Step inside the future of directing — and watch how performances become characters in worlds that don’t yet exist. 🎬 SCHEDULE: 4 Class Sessions over 2 Weekends (40 hrs. total) MARCH 21 – MARCH 29, 2026 SESSIONS: 1.
